Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Working between hectic tutoring schedules, mentoring, and sports, it has been decided our project this year will be a storybook of short stories written by the members of the BHES Drama Club. Writers start the story with a word that begins with the letter “A” and follow the alphabet in subsequent until they reach the letter “Z.” The story should make sense and propel action in the scene. Along with their story, writers will create related illustrations.

This project challenges our troupe to expand their vocabulary, creative thinking, and storytelling skills.

Students are encouraged to think about the structure of a story. The title, characters, setting, problem, and solution. Creating the story alphabetically adds a spicy little challenge to help strengthen their vocabulary.

Once the stories are done, they will be printed and bound to create an ABC Storybook keepsake to share with friends and family.
