Thanks to your donations, our classroom has been completely transformed into a warm, organized, and engaging space that my students love walking into each day.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the bright daisy carpet, they literally ran to it, choosing \"their flower\" to sit on during our Strong Starts, whole group instructions, and read-alouds. It instantly gave us a cozy and welcoming place to gather and connect as a class. That carpet has quickly become the heart of our room.\r\n\r\nThe seat pockets have been a game-changer for staying organized. No more lost pencils or crumpled papers! My students take great pride in keeping their materials tucked neatly behind their chairs, which has helped them take more ownership over their learning spaces.\r\n\r\nOne of the biggest upgrades has been the dry-erase kidney table, which has completely transformed small group instruction. Whether we are working on reading strategies or solving math problems, students are more engaged and focused, and the ability to write directly on the table has made learning interactive and fun. It has truly become our hub for meaningful, targeted learning.\r\n\r\nThe mailboxes have brought structure to our daily routines. Students now have a designated space for their take-home folders and important notes, and it has made end-of-day transitions so much smoother. They feel responsible and grown-up managing their own mail slots!\r\n\r\nAnd finally, the new bookshelf is filled with high-interest books that are flying off the shelves, literally. Having a visually appealing and accessible space to house our classroom library has made reading feel special again. Students are constantly recommending books to each other and asking for more reading time, music to any teacher's ears!\r\n\r\nThese resources have not only enhanced our classroom environment but also boosted student confidence, independence, and excitement for learning. We cannot wait to use the carpet for more story circle discussions, the kidney table for guided reading groups, and the bookshelf to support our up-and-coming readers.\r\n\r\nThank you again for giving my students the tools they need to thrive. Students are able to draw pictures of the types of plants they would grow in their own gardens. \r\n\r\nWe were able to expand our knowledge of the garden by talking about pollinators in the garden and planting wildflowers. \r\n\r\nTime escaped us this school year, but we cannot wait to start our FoodPrints lessons when we return from summer vacation.","fullyFundedDate":1740010179431,"projectUrl":"project/bare-earth-to-blooming-garden/9112580/","projectTitle":"Bare Earth to Blooming Garden","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. T. Thanks to your generosity, our students now have access to meaningful incentives that motivate them to show up as their best selves each day. Whether it's a new set of pencils, a fun eraser, a notebook, or even a small toy or snack, these items have made a big impact on our classroom culture and student engagement.\r\n\r\nOne way we've been using the new resources is through our monthly visit based on students' Classroom DOJO points. Students earn points throughout the month for positive behaviors, like showing leadership, being kind, completing work, and staying on task, and then get to shop with those points. Seeing how this simple system has encouraged students to hold themselves accountable and support each other has been amazing. One particular moment that stands out was when a student who often struggles with self-control made it his mission to earn enough points for a new sketchbook. \r\n\r\nThank you for being a part of our community. Your donation has helped us organize and expand the recycled materials we use in the art room. \r\n\r\nThe recycling bins you provided give us a better way to store plastics, paper, and other materials that students can reuse in their projects. It's amazing to see how much their creativity grows when they have easy access to all these materials, and the projects they are creating are so inspiring!\r\n\r\nThe blender and paper-making screens are allowing us to recycle our leftover paper into new art supplies. This hands-on process is not only fun, but it's teaching my students how to reduce waste while making something beautiful. The books you helped provide are also opening their eyes to real-world artists and environmentalists.\r\n\r\nBy integrating these processes into our curriculum, we are teaching students valuable lessons about the importance of reducing, reusing, and recycling. They are learning to see the potential in what others may discard, and it's inspiring to watch how their creativity grows alongside their commitment to caring for our planet. This experience is shaping them into thoughtful, resourceful, and environmentally-conscious individuals — the next generation of eco-artists and advocates for change!\r\n\r\nYour donation has helped to transform our art room into a space of creativity and environmental responsibility. Your support has had a huge impact on how our students learn and express themselves creatively. The dry erase boards and markers were perfect for our art classes because they allowed students to work both indoors and outside. They enjoyed being able to doodle their ideas, play drawing games, and plan their artwork, especially during our comics unit. As a teacher, I loved how versatile these materials were, and it was great to reduce paper waste while still encouraging their creativity!\r\n\r\nThe how-to-draw and nature art guidebooks you provided also inspired our students. These books helped them pay closer attention to nature, like observing the texture of tree bark, imagining their own birds, and dreaming up gardens they would like to cultivate. It was wonderful to see how these activities sparked their imaginations and helped them connect more deeply with the world around them. Your donation truly gave them new ways to express their thoughts and ideas through art!\r\n\r\nThe watercolor pencils and glue sticks you gave us were also a big help. The watercolor pencils let students keep exploring the medium of paint when our art classes were held outside of the art room. All we needed was cups of water and we could paint away! The gluesticks were especially useful as we created artwork inspired by spring flowers, including the beautiful cherry blossoms outside our school. Your contribution has not only supported their artistic development but also deepened their appreciation for the beauty of nature.","fullyFundedDate":1711562419300,"projectUrl":"project/springing-into-art-en-plain-air/8283341/","projectTitle":"Springing into Art En Plain Air","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Keene","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9497617_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1711060963508","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9497617"},{"teacherId":9272574,"projectId":8707408,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for all of your donations. The new texts will serve as tools to introduce and reinforce essential skills, such as identifying main ideas, analyzing characters, and understanding context. Students will practice quoting accurately from the text to support their ideas and engage in discussions that deepen their understanding of themes and concepts. Lessons focus on building vocabulary, fostering the ability to infer meaning from context, and encouraging students to make connections between the text and their own lives. These books also introduce new perspectives and ideas, broadening students' horizons and helping them develop empathy and cultural awareness.\r\n\r\nIn our classroom, reading is dynamic and inclusive. Students read independently, in small groups, and as a whole class, depending on the day's objective. The mobile whiteboard is used to visualize story elements, brainstorm ideas, and annotate texts together. Group discussions, facilitated by clear organizational tools like paper holders, encourage collaboration and ensure all voices are heard. Reading is also paired with engaging activities like role-playing scenes or creating visual story maps, which cater to diverse learning styles. With candy as a motivational tool, students are celebrated for their effort and progress, creating a positive and supportive atmosphere that helps them feel confident and excited about reading. This approach ensures that every student is engaged and growing in their reading journey.","fullyFundedDate":1726863929095,"projectUrl":"project/write-read-treat/8743039/","projectTitle":"Write, Read, & Treat!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Ra'Neta Oliver","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4009869_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1714746890167","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4009869"},{"teacherId":8743187,"projectId":8690872,"letterContent":"The members of the Drama Club would like to thank you sincerely.
