My students need storytelling kits for several stories, puppet kits, finger puppet kits, and a storytelling apron with the felt story telling pieces.

My Students

Imagine trying to complete a proposal for work or research paper for school without a computer, pens, or paper. These materials are just as important to young minds that run rampant with imagination. These materials will not only enhance lessons, but will give them a chance to tell their own stories

My friends are a class of 5 boys and 9 girls with active imaginations and continuous story telling capabilities.

I try to come up with some magical surprise every day to "hook" them and encourage them to get out of bed the next morning. Frequently, they will say, "Tell us a story, Teacher." The love to be read to and will often jump into "help" tell the story by completing rhymes or making guesses about what will happen next. They love and despise characters, laugh and frown and story event, and recoil in shock at the behavior of some naughty characters. My friends LOVE storytime.

My Project

This project includes storytelling kits for: Silly Sally, Quick as a Cricket, The Rainbow Fish, Joseph Had a Little Overcoat, and The Little Old Woman Who Swallowed a Fly. Also included are puppet kits for Go Away Big Green Monster and Goldilocks and the Three Bears. There is a set of finger puppets for zoo animals, farm animals and fairy tales. Also included is a storytelling apron with kits including the Gingerbread Man, Itsy Bitsy Spider, Three Bears, Three Little Pigs, Three Billy Goats Gruff,5 Speckled Frogs, Teasing Mr. Alligator, Little Red Hen, Five Little Ducks, and Old MacDonald.

This is an imaginative group of little friends.

We currently have very few storytelling materials. These materials will enrich our storytelling time, circle time, and center time. They are non-consumable so they will be available to future classes of friends for years to come.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
