My Students

My classroom is full of 21 first graders that have personalities as unique and diverse as their educational needs. I find it hard to describe my students without writing paragraphs about each of them individually. But to sum them up, I would have to say that my 21 firsties are incredibly kind, hard working, and eager to learn children. They find excitement and joy in the little things, and their curious minds are what makes them the amazing students that they are. My students are incredible thinkers, that are learning how to be more independent as they get ready to tackle their next challenge: 2nd grade!

My Project

As I have gotten to know my students over the past few months, I have discovered that they are incredibly unique individuals. My students come from many different backgrounds, have varied interests, and learn in different ways. But one thing that of all my students share is a love for technology. My students are constantly talking about what tablets they have at home, and all of the fun games they play on them.

I want to fuel their love for tablets while also incorporating it with their love for learning and discovering.

There are many online programs out there that can differentiate content for students in a way that no one teacher can. These programs can meet students where they are at in Math and Reading, and support them as they learn and grow. Not only will these tablets be used for educational purposes, but motivational purposes as well. Being able to complete assignments and projects with a tablet will be the motivation that some of my students need to push through challenges and obstacles that they may face in the classroom.
