This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is a Title I school; most of our students receive free or reduced lunch because of their family income level. It is a diverse population consisting primarily of Latino, African American, and Caucasian students. My classes are 40% ELL. We operate on the growth mindset philosophy. Gamification, praise, progress monitoring, and rewards are a huge part of our learning environment. This works hand-in-hand with our blended learning mastery-based curriculum. Each student works at his or her own rate to master all the objectives in the course.

My Project

My students have complete access to technology in the classroom. That means the sky is the limit for them. I think that is awesome. At the same time, I feel it is fundamentally important to honor the basic concepts of note taking, recording, and hand written calculations. I feel these concepts can be the underpinnings to learning. I want my students to record what they learn in the requested notebooks to use and to reflect upon.

I want to continue using notebooks and that is why I am asking you for your help to supply us with these notebooks.
