Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am so excited to be a third grade teacher next year. I had the opportunity to step into my new classroom and my heart breaks when I saw the poor conditions of the furniture. Desks and chairs are probably more than 50 years old.
I think chairs covers will be a great solution not only covering the damaged chairs but also helping students to be organized.
Many years of experience tells me exactly what happens during the school year when individual storage is not provided for students. They have stuff all over their desk, their stuff clutters the inside of their desk, and when they need to pull out a textbook or folder, they’re wasting time, rummaging around in their filthy backpack. It’s a mess! For this reason it is very important for me to provide them with the basic storage in their own place.
My students next year are special because most of them are new comers from different countries and they have to learn all new customs and traditions here at school and also in this country.
