Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Together we can have children Inspire, Desire, and Admire! Open the door of opportunities to my second graders to enjoy, learn, and challenge themselves with technology.
My second grade students love to learn and discover new things.
Most of my students are from minority and low socio-economic homes. The entire school is on a free lunch program and very few have the chance to use technology at home. Technology is now a significant feature of our lives. Giving my students the opportunity to learn math and reading skills through computers will give them a jumpstart to what is waiting for them in the future!
My Project
Having the tablet computer in our classroom will give my students a chance to incorporate technology with learning. They can access games and websites on different subjects like math, science, reading and social studies. Children learn in a variety of ways and this would help in incorporating a different way to learn. Most importantly, they will be able to access the online reading tests to improve their comprehension and reading skills. Our school district offers an online program where the students read a book in their level and they then have to answer comprehension questions on that book.
Please help us incorporate technology into our learning.
Computers are becoming a way of life for all ages and its our responsibility to ensure that ALL children use them in a way that helps them reach their potential!
