This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am an Intervention Specialist with approximately 675 students and 50+ teachers and staff within a Title I school. Our students are creative, thoughtful, and have a full love of learning! They love engaging, hands-on learning opportunities. Our teachers & staff work everyday to provide our students with interventions and supports they need to reach their full potential.

My goal is to create lifelong readers!

My Project

March is National Reading Month! With Read Across America day quickly approaching, we are hoping to get a book in all of our students hands. Reading is a fundamental life skill for all of our students. However, not all of our students have access to their own stories to read with them at home.

We want our students to go on a journey with their new books and cozy up with a good book!

Our goal is to have a book for each student to log their reading hours for the week. As a school, we will have a week long reading adventure for students to experience different genres. After experiencing the book tasting, we want our students to be able to go home with one of their favorite stories to continue their love of reading.
