Oh, No! We Are Out of Batteries!

My students need 168 AA batteries to keep their adaptive toys and communication devices energized and ready to use every day.

My Students

My special student use communication devices to convey their needs, wants etc. The students also play with adaptive toys that provide them with wonderful opportunities to learn. These resources are terrific but need a constant supply of batteries to keep them energized and ready to use every day.

I teach young children with multiple disabilities.

They are a wonderful group who love to learn. It is a joy to provide them with unique and meaningful learning experiences. Many of our students have physical challenges as well as medical issues and cognitive impairment. Although their challenges are many, their enthusiasm and positive spirit empower us to develop their skills and increase their level of independence at school, home, and in the community. We are proud of their accomplishments and want to find creative ways to showcase their abilities.

My Project

Our students are able to tell us what they need with their communication devices. They can request a drink of water or tell us that they need help. The devices are individualized for each child. The communication devices empower our students. They teach them to ask for what they need, assist them in social interactions and increase their level of independence. The adaptive toys give all of our special learners the gift of play. Many of the toys can be activated with a light touch of a button. All children need to have meaningful and fun play experiences. Keeping our toys and communication devices running is expensive. The toys and the communication devices are essential to the well-being of our special learners.

You can help a child say, "I love you." or " I want a turn." and so much more by funding our proposal for batteries.

The smiles on the faces of the children as they play together will make your day! Please consider funding our proposal for batteries. We would love to have you as our partner in the education of our special children.
