My second graders love hands-on, project-based learning that allows them to work and grow together as a learning community.
In our classroom, we are limited by space, but my students are always finding creative ways to collaborate, problem solve and share new knowledge and ideas with one another.
Our school is located in the heart of our nation's oldest city, St. Augustine, Florida. I feel so thankful for the opportunity to love, laugh, and learn with my amazing second graders each and every day!
My Project
I am asking for kidney-shaped tables to promote collaboration and teamwork in our learning community. I currently teach in a Title I school that has very limited resources for facility and furniture upgrades and improvement. We have very old "singleton" desks that take up too much space in our classroom and are not conducive to our collaborative learning environment.
My students would be so excited to walk into our classroom and see bright new tables that facilitate hands-on, project-based learning that truly matches our culture of collaboration and teamwork!
Not only would my students benefit from being able to work together in this new space, but the kidney-shaped tables would allow me to quickly and easily access each group for small group instruction and enrichment opportunities.
