This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are always trying to adhere to school policies, and one of them is to be in school uniform every day. This is not always possible because they do not have enough shirts or pants to wear every day. Sometimes they come to school with dirty clothes, and most of them have to wear a shirt two days in a row. All of my students come from low-income homes and some have one or two siblings attending school. So it is very difficult for their parents to purchase multiple uniforms.

Students need to come to school with clean uniforms.

Having good hygiene can help them increase their self-esteem, which can also help them perform better academically. It is also important for them to feel warm, especially when they have to go outside for recess. These long-sleeved shirts and long pants will keep them warm this winter as they socialize and play with their classmates and school friends.
