Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school family is made of 10 children with a variety of disabilities. My students have developmental delays, Autism, Speech delays, sensory issues, Down Syndrome, and other special needs. Our school receives free lunch from a grant due to the income of the families at SRE.
My goal as an educator is to help my students learn social skills, and self-regulating skills so that they can be successful!
Throughout the school day, we are interacting with learning opportunities to build on social interactions.
My Project
My children are in need of building their social skills and strengthening their adaptive skills. Since many of the students in my class present challenges with social interaction, the use of "Baby Doll Circle Time" will provide the children with a model and opportunities to interact socially in an appropriate way and build on social play.
The donations for this project will help my students build body awareness, concepts of healing and hurting, healthy attachment, impulse control, self-regulation, regulate emotions, and name feelings.
Many children in my class find social interactions and building connections challenging. By using the materials for this project, I will have the resources needed to help my students overcome their challenges.
