Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students have an enormous appetite for reading, and for research!! This becomes difficult when we are sharing computer carts with the rest of the school. I would like a dedicated computer cart, with Chromebooks for my students to be able to access Google classroom, read texts, conduct research and write arguments/essays/narratives consistently.
My students, some of whom are also members of our award-winning debate team, are voracious readers writers and researchers in ELA and Debate.
They are completely committed to building strong essays and arguments, but are sometimes at a loss without technology.
This dedicated set of computers would enable them to flourish even more!!!
My Project
With computers, our students were able to create projects for our grade-wide expeditions: PowerPoints and articles about local heroes; designs and 3-D models of colonized settlements on Mars; essays on the brain and growth mindset; and plans, designs and models of sustainable buildings in our own neighborhood, with the community and its needs included in the planning. My 6th graders are eager to explore, learn and create.
My students are on the road to becoming agents of positive change.
To prepare them for college and careers, today's students must be as tech-savvy as possible. Please help them make this happen through your generous donation.
