My Students
Do you remember your third grade class? Third graders are inquisitive and curious, ready to tackle the problems of the world. They are eager to learn new things and full of pride when they accomplish something.
My students are a wonderfully diverse, enthusiastic group of 8 and 9 year old kids.
A majority are African American, and we also have kids from the Philippines and others with Latin American ancestry. We are at a Title One school, meaning a majority of students are economically disadvantaged.
My Project
I am requesting the essential items to start of the school year with all of the tools my students and I need for organization. The basic necessities of the classroom include paper, pencils, notebooks, markers, folders, and ink.
My goal is to supply my third graders with the basic materials they need, and teach them how to become successful, independent learners.
Students will receive notebooks to organize math, language arts/writing, and science. They will receive homework folders to keep track of assignments and for parent communication. Students will have pencils to do their work, and colored pencils and markers to bring some of their work and art to life. Ink for the printer allows the teacher to keep the classroom print rich and make copies as needed for students. Copy paper ensures students have the spelling, vocabulary, and math sheets needed to bolster learning.
More than half of students from low‑income households
