Off and Away for the Day

Help me give my students a poster maker so we can get the word out about our new Off-and-Away policy. This will also allow groups to make posters for their different events.

My Students

My students are participating in a special program within our school. Our Title I school serves about 900 students. We also house many special programs. One of the special programs we offer is for gifted learners. This program has around 300 students in grades six through eight, and I teach about 155 of them. I have the unique opportunity to teach advanced math to 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade students. I strongly believe good math skills will open up doors for my students to do anything they want in the future.

My students enjoy learning and look forward to being exposed to new material.

They are inquisitive, hardworking, and are always looking for new challenges. My students also love to play fun and interesting games in their free time and like to give back to the community. All of my kids have enjoyed the extras I can give them because of donors like you. They are always amazed at how lucky they are to have such wonderful items that enhance their learning. They have been excited about all of the community service projects and kindness acts we have done throughout the year. These types of acts help build empathy.

My Project

This poster printer can help our school create posters to advertise our off and away policy for cell phones. Research shows that kids brains develop better without the distractions of cell phones during the school day.

The lack of cell phone use during the day brings up academic scores and allows kids to learn more social skills and how to get along with others.

This poster printer would allow us to have kids also create posters for different events that happen around our school as well. For example, the student council might want to advertise their dance or ice cream social. This poster printer would make it easier to get the word out fast.
