This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our oceans need your help! What's it like to visit the ocean? Learn about how you can help animals of the ocean. Slowly dive down and see their colorful and interesting world.

Our school is in Southern California.

We are a public school in a low income area with a large population of English language learners. We are located 5 miles from the Pacific Ocean. We are a 2nd grade class who is very interested in learning about different things. We love animals and are very curious about how they live.

My Project

Resources to learn about sea life include plastic figurines of different animals of the ocean. There are different books about sea life, both non-fiction and fiction. There are hands-on activities to feel which the skin of a sting ray. There are actual sea animals enclosed in plastic cubes. There is a puzzle. Another resource is a learning center kit on ocean life.

Students will learn about underwater education.

Students will learn about sea life and the dangers that the ocean is faced with today. They will learn to appreciate and respect the ocean and all that it has to offer us. They will learn that sharks are not dangerous animals but are strong and beautiful animals. They will learn about the migration of the whales. They will learn about the different creatures of the sea in different parts of the world.
