Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Every student in my school receives free breakfast and lunch. We are located in a high needs area of Chicago.
My classroom currently serves students with the highest needs in regards to cognitive impairment, behavior, adaptive or functional skills, and life skills.
We tailor our classroom to meet each students individual needs and goals. We ensure that all of our students have an opportunity to learn and grown to their individual fullest potential. Our ultimate goal is for our students to be integrated members of their community.
My Project
These snacks will help my students to be able to recharge their energy and to focus better on completing the daily tasks at school. Many of my students are hungry throughout the school day and simply eating a snack helps their brains to be more focused on completing these tasks more successfully. My students utilize a work to reward system and love the snacks listed in the cart (applesauce, jello, pudding, oatmeal- and hey its nutritious too!). Having tangible items such as snacks will help with their time on task and behavior! Thank you for your help and support in providing these snacks to my students. We really appreciate your help.
