My Project

My students are extraordinary individuals, each carrying a unique set of challenges and strengths. These remarkable young minds are not defined by their behavioral needs; they are talented, creative, and deserving of every opportunity to succeed. As a special education teacher, I understand the value of creating an inclusive environment that nurtures their individuality and helps them develop skills necessary for navigating the world beyond the classroom.

The requested items make a difference.

The cozy reading corner, adorned with pillows and carpet spots, will provide a tranquil space where my students can engage with literature at their own pace. This tactile and comfortable environment encourages relaxation and concentration, making reading a more enjoyable and immersive experience for them. With SEL supplies, such as emotion cards, mindfulness tools, and calming sensory objects, my students will have dedicated resources to aid in their emotional regulation journey. These tools empower them to identify and manage their feelings, laying a foundation for improved self-control and interpersonal relationships.

Recognizing that my students thrive in a loving and engaging atmosphere, fidgets and board games offer valuable outlets for their energy and creativity. Fidgets provide sensory stimulation that aids focus, while board games promote cognitive skills and social interaction, fostering a positive and stimulating learning environment.

The heart of this project lies in providing my students with an inclusive environment that parallels their general education peers. By offering a comfortable reading corner, enriching SEL supplies, and engaging fidgets and board games, we ensure that their learning experience is not just meaningful but also equitable.
