My students are from a small, rural community. Some of these students have never attended school until they started this year. Others are learning the English language as well as all the kindergarten standards. These students do not live in traditional neighborhoods with lots of children near by to play with. Often times school is the only place they play and interact with children that are not in their families. It is my goal to provide opportunities for these students to develop their language, creativity and problem solving skills. Our school has a unique ESTEM program (environment, science, technology, engineering and math.)
These materials will give my students new, interesting, and hands on ways to learn the alphabet letters. Some of my students are struggling to learn the remaining letters of the alphabet. I need to present the letters to my students in innovative ways so that they have a chance to learn all of them. All students are not the same and they do not learn the same ways. , My traditional ways of teaching letter recognition have not reached all of my students. These materials will give my students the opportunity to explore and learn the letters of the alphabet.
