Students gather on the carpet for morning meetings, songs, stories, and whole-group lessons. The colorful sections help students identify their personal space, practice sitting safely, and learn classroom routines and expectations. The carpet has also supported social-emotional learning as students learn to sit together, listen to peers, take turns speaking, and engage respectfully in group discussions.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the rainbow carpet, they were instantly drawn to it. Many commented on the bright colors and excitedly asked where they would get to sit. Some even proceeded to make \"carpet angels.\" The clear, inviting design helped ease transitions and created a sense of excitement and belonging during circle time. \r\n\r\nThank you again for helping make our classroom amazing!","fullyFundedDate":1758824191638,"projectUrl":"project/magic-carpet-ride/9437739/","projectTitle":"Magic Carpet Ride","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. McCook","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp3876606_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1473771425798","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3876606"},{"teacherId":3876606,"projectId":9686130,"letterContent":"Our TK students have been actively using the new magnetic builders, magnifying glasses, and doll people across multiple learning areas in the classroom. The magnetic builders are being used to design and construct houses, bridges, and imaginative structures for the doll people, encouraging problem-solving, spatial awareness, and teamwork. Students collaborate to plan their builds, test stability, and revise their designs when something doesn't work, all while engaging in rich conversation with peers. The magnifying glasses have added a new layer of curiosity, as students closely observe classroom objects, natural materials, and details they might otherwise overlook.\r\n\r\nWhen students were first introduced to these materials, they were immediately captivated. They eagerly explored how the magnets worked, expressed amazement at how pieces connected, and excitedly used the magnifying glasses to examine textures, colors, and tiny details. The doll people quickly became characters in students' stories, inspiring imaginative play and social interaction.\r\n\r\nThanks to our donors, the next steps for students include integrating these materials into STEM and literacy lessons. Students will build structures with a specific purpose, such as homes or community spaces, and use the doll people to act out stories and real-life scenarios. We will also expand observation activities using magnifying glasses, tying them to science lessons about living and nonliving things, to foster curiosity, creativity, and hands-on learning every day.","fullyFundedDate":1757512504730,"projectUrl":"project/stem-for-tks/9686130/","projectTitle":"Stem for TKs","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. McCook","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp3876606_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1473771425798","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3876606"},{"teacherId":3876606,"projectId":9483217,"letterContent":"Our TK classroom has been enthusiastically using the new ice cream toys in our dramatic play center, and it has quickly become one of the most popular areas in the room. Students are using the scoops and play ice cream to role-play running an ice cream shop: taking turns as the cashier, scooper, and customer. This center has sparked rich language development as students practice greeting one another, placing orders, using polite phrases, and describing flavors. We've also seen natural math connections as students count scoops, compare quantities, and sort ice cream by color and type.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, their reaction was pure excitement. Eyes lit up, cheers erupted, and several students immediately began talking about their favorite ice cream flavors and trips to real ice cream shops. They were eager to explore the materials and carefully handled the scoops and ice cream pieces, showing pride and ownership right away.\r\n\r\nThanks to our donors, students now have an engaging foundation for deeper learning. Next steps include adding menus with numbers and pictures, play money for simple transactions, and opportunities for students to draw or write about their ice cream shop experiences. We will also connect this center to lessons on community helpers, sequencing, and cooperative play, helping students build social, academic, and real-world skills through joyful learning.","fullyFundedDate":1762267680540,"projectUrl":"project/we-all-scream-for-ice-cream/9483217/","projectTitle":"We All Scream for Ice Cream","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. McCook","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp3876606_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1473771425798","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3876606"},{"teacherId":5312799,"projectId":9759546,"letterContent":"My kiddos and i thank you so much for this amazing project.
