My Project

At 13 and 14, junior high students have a world of feelings. They feel ALL their feelings wholly, and they are BIG feelings. Already, so many of these students have had to navigate loss - through death, divorce, relocation, and the natural changing of friends and groups.

Learning to navigate loss and grief is incredibly difficult, and many rely on fictional characters to help us see the way through.

The Remarkable Journey of Coyote Sunrise is a story of a young girl who, after losing her mother and two sisters, travels across the country in a converted school bus. This novel will add a new depth of story to our book club options, and add a fresh, female voice to the narrators which students can choose from.

The Remarkable Journey of Coyote Sunrise is already a best seller and popular Middle School Book, and I can't wait to add it to my options for our book clubs.

We need somewhere to store these books! A bookshelf will help with that.
