Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

My students are very diverse. Many are from several different countries and speak several different languages. Stories are also written in different languages. I have a large population of Hispanic students and would like to share with them the stories we are reading in class.

Funding this project means that students will be able to read great stories in their native language.

The hope is to get students interested in reading novels by introducing these novels in their native language. Once they begin to enjoy reading, I can coax them into reading other novels hopefully in English.
