Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are bright, curious, and hardworking high schoolers who are learning to express themselves through writing, reflection, and critical thinking. Many of them come from diverse backgrounds and face challenges both in and outside the classroom, but they continue to show up ready to learn and grow. They thrive when given the right tools to help them stay organized and express their voices.

My Project:

I am requesting notebooks and loose-leaf paper for my students. These simple but essential supplies will serve two important purposes:

Note-taking – helping students capture and organize key ideas during lessons, which builds study skills and supports academic success.

Journaling – giving students a safe space to reflect, write creatively, and develop their voices. Writing in journals also supports social-emotional learning by encouraging self-expression and self-awareness.

With dedicated notebooks and paper, students will have a consistent place to track their learning, practice their writing, and reflect on their growth throughout the year.

The Impact:

Having access to these supplies will ensure all students can participate fully, without worrying about whether they can afford basic materials. A notebook may seem small, but for my students, it represents opportunity: the chance to record ideas, explore new perspectives, and build confidence as both learners and writers.

Your support will provide them with the tools to take ownership of their learning, strengthen their voices, and create a tangible record of their progress this year.

Thank you for you consideration.
