I teach at a middle school in Brooklyn with awesome 8th grade students who love to learn. My students have so much energy and are always finding ways to release it. My students come from many different backgrounds and have many life experiences to contribute to their class learning. Not only are the students diverse based on background, they are also diverse based on their learning styles and interests.
My students are always asking how the math concepts we are learning applies to their world outside of the classroom and trying to make connections on their own.
My Project
Having a uniformed set of notebooks for all my students will allow the setting up and creation of our interactive notebooks run smoothly. I won't have to worry about students not being able to bring in the required supplies.
I want my students to be able to focus on the math content without having to worry about the lack of or difference in the supplies they have.
Having a new set of flexible ruler and protractors will allow my students to be productive without me having to worry about them breaking the supplies. The bright color notebooks, rulers and protractors will add an extra touch to our classroom.
