Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Teaching these students as if they were my own children, has benefited their growth mindset and potential to succeed in a changing world. All are unique and bring various skills to school.
We laugh, inquire, learn, and share in a repetitious cycle through all content areas!
This may happen all in one day, or in a week. Almost 95% of students are receiving free/reduced lunch. Also, 63% of them are English Learners, but we know our backgrounds do not make us!
My Project
Students in my classroom are in their prime years for learning the foundation skills of phonics, grammar, reading, and writing. One way to build on those skills is through Response to Intervention (RTI) time. While I am working with a small group, other students would benefit from these puzzles and games by working together in a fun and engaging way.
These materials will bridge the gap where ALL students will become proficient.
Also, students will develop social and emotional skills while working with a partner or group. These materials will also be beneficial to English Learners through reading, listening, speaking, and writing.
