Not Ending World Hunger (yet), Just Our Chromebook Shortage
My students need electronic devices like Chromebooks to enhance their learning in the classroom.
I have the privilege of teaching a special bunch of 5th-grade students. My students are creative, energetic, and independent. Many of the students in this district are socioeconomically disadvantaged or foster children. Despite it all, they have extraordinary talents, and I'd like to help them discover them.
My students are this world's future leaders in the making!
The POTUS, United States Army Commanding General, and the doctor who will cure cancer are all in my class as we speak. They are a lively, outgoing, and intelligent group.
This is 2018. Students are learning at an early age how to navigate technology. Unfortunately, schools can't keep up with the technological advances, and our classrooms are not yet at the level technologically to meet their needs as learners. As a result, students have to bring their own devices or share the limited computers we have with 2-4 other students.
These Chromebooks will help me individualize instruction and integrate a technology component that can meet the needs of the new age multi-faceted learner.
Students will be able to engage in more creative lessons and demonstrate growth in the areas of Math, Reading, and Science. I have planned some engaging lessons that require technology. These Chromebooks will allow more students to be able to participate in those lessons and become more proficient at using technology.
