This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My first grade students are becoming amazing readers, but we are missing nonfiction books that are decodable. Giving my students books that they can read is a dream that came true for me this year. We are reading everyday and they are reading so many new books and decoding words at an amazing rate, but all of our books are fiction. With 23 students in the class, we have many different interests and being able to provide them with nonfiction books is a new mission for me.

School is all about exposure to the world and nonfiction books give students a wealth of knowledge they might not get at home.

Books are important, so please help me give my students nonfiction books and bins to hold the books.
