Nonfiction Books Build Readers

Help me give my students their own copy of books that they have read with teacher in small groups, so that can store the book in their book box and reread it outside of small group time.

My Project

My second graders love the books that they read with me in small group. However, I must keep the books with me, so that I can use them with the next small group. It would be wonderful to have enough copies of the same book that my students could keep a book at their desk to reread often.

Nonfiction books with quality pictures hold students' interest and are a wonderful tool to help develop children's comprehension of nonfiction text.

When multiple students have the same book in their book box, they are able to reread the book with a partner and discuss the text. These book sets will be a much used and appreciated addition to our classroom.
