My Students
My students are a diverse group of second graders exploding with energy. They take risks and love to share what they know. They are growing everyday, building a learning foundation, that will support them for the rest of their lives.
They are beginning to define who they are and are curious and eager to learn about the world around them. Second graders are learning to believe in themselves, growing their confidence to tackle difficult problems. They are learning to be kind and thoughtful people.
My Project
It is so important that students fall in love with and connect to animals. It is a critical time on earth when many animal species are on the brink of extinction. We want our kids to understand and love animals. We want them to see how important they are to our earth so that they will grow up protecting them.
Kids love animals! Books about animals are high interest books that will be read and discussed over and over. It is so important that our classroom libraries are packed with high interest books that kids love reading. These books will both teach and engage my students for many, many years.
