My Students

This year I will be teaching several sections of PE that will impact hundreds students from 6th-8th grades. I am continuously impressed with our students attitudes and work ethic and want to maintain that spirit. Our students love to play games that they are familiar with, but I want to create a new and fun learning environment for them that allows to try new things.

The work we do in our gym is focused to create a culture that appreciates each others unique qualities, holds each other accountable, works hard, and has a growth mindset to achieve their goals.

I want my students to be physically literate, understanding how physical activity and nutrition can impact them for their entire lifespan.

My Project

For my project I requested fitness equipment as well as some active games for my students to enjoy. The fitness equipment with be used in stations so students would have more opportunities to see how to properly train their bodies safely. It's very important to learn the right techniques in middle school so that when they get older they are doing things the correct way to prevent injuries.

This equipment would be so helpful to teach lifetime skills as they would learn how to put together their own fitness programs that would help them be physically fit across the lifespan.

I want to continue to teach students in middle school not only about team sports, but what activities they would be able to do for their entire lives. The spikeball and can jam game will be great for our class to start learning a new unit with yard games that you can use to keep active outside of class that is fun and enjoyable!
