My students need a beanbag chair and stress balls to help them de-stress during their day.

Hooray! This project is fully funded
Have you ever been overwhelmed and frustrated? Often my learning support students feel that way as they try to conform to the routines in our regular high school environment.
My classroom is made up of students with a wide range of needs including low cognitive ability and autism in 9th through 12th grade.
Students with these disabilities often have a unique set of sensory needs and often school is not where they find the most success. My students work very hard, but often at the end of 80 minutes they feel overwhelmed and even frustrated. I want to provide my students with a comfortable space that will allow them to de-stress and prepare to continue with their day.
My students come from a variety of backgrounds and with a variety of different learning needs, but one thing is the same for all of them. They will do much better if they have a comfortable space to call their own and a space that will give them the resources needed to have a "break" from the stresses of the day. My students will benefit from the beanbag chair as they utilize it for a sensory break. They will use the stress balls and tangle ropes to help meet their sensory needs and provide them with the sensory input they need to continue their day.
You can help make a difference in the education of these students with special needs.
Funding this project will allow me to better meet the needs of my students by giving students the equipment needed to meet their sensory needs and focus on their academic tasks. These students work so hard despite the many challenges that they face. Help these students increase their academic learning with a calming place to de-stress as needed.
