My classroom is made up of students with a wide range of needs including low cognitive ability and autism in 9th through 12th grade. Students with these disabilities often have a unique set of sensory needs and often school is not where they find the most success. My students work very hard, but often at the end of 80 minutes they feel overwhelmed and even frustrated. I want to provide my students with a comfortable space that will allow them to de-stress and prepare to continue with their day.
