My students need a new pitcher's screen for their protection. My students and I have been using duck tape, and zip ties to hold our current screen together for the past 2 years.
Our high school is home of the Jets. It is a unique school, made up of students from all different backgrounds, ethnicities, and personalities. The students have a passion for learning and understanding.
What I love most about teaching and coaching at our high school is that everyone is accepted.
We have created a family oriented community, where every student, teacher, administrator, and staff member feels comfortable and welcome.
For example, during my first year on campus I had a group of students invite me to play on their lunchtime flag football team. The students saw that I was new, and reached out to me to make sure I felt welcomed and appreciated.
My students and players on campus understand at a very young age that when everyone pulls on the same end of the rope and puts team first, great things happen. GO JETS!
My Project
The project we are so gratefully requesting will be essential to my student’s safety, and my player’s safety. I am a P.E teacher, and head varsity baseball coach. The pitcher's screen we are asking for will play a vital role in both P.E and on the baseball field.
The screen will be used for both P.E softball, and batting practice for my baseball team.
The screen will serve as multi-functional piece of equipment. In P.E softball, my students toss the ball under hand from behind the screen.
On the baseball field, my coaches and I throw batting practice from behind the screen. This protective screen will help my students feel safe during P.E, it will help the productivity of my class, and be very beneficial on the baseball field. Thank you so much for your consideration.
