My students need to be able to have the materials readily available for class and STEM projects with a laminator, ink, pouches, a storage center and storage trays.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students live in a neighborhood that is a food desert, with the majority coming from single parent homes. Many do not have the means for simple pleasures that children need to be successful in school such as books, computers or learning tools.
The students are very eager to learn in the lower grades because they have yet to understand their situation.
Therefore, the school tries to provide as much exposure to the tools necessary for them to be successful while in the classroom.
My Project
A classroom should be a place of learning with all of the tools necessary to be successful. This will allow students to be more engaged because they have what they need to continue. A laminator and and copier in the classroom will help the creativity of little minds. They will be able to see and keep the finished product,
Having a place to put their books and tools used daily, will give students a sense of ownership.
Many of them share their spaces at home, but their cubbie will allow them to place important things without worrying about losing them. A complete classroom becomes a student's home for a year.
