Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is a Title I Pre-K through 5th grade elementary school and all students receive free breakfast and lunch. Our students arrive at school every day excited and ready to learn, even though many of them may have walked some distance to get to school. Most of our students are English Language Learners and are very eager to learn English. The students at this school work hard every day and have bonded to form a caring family despite any disadvantages they may face.

These students are looking forward to our new technology class next year and deserve to have the resources they need to learn computer science and coding!

We are the Roundy Racers, students who learn and grow together. I am looking forward to being their technology teacher this school year. These students make me happy and proud every day to be their teacher!

My Project

The Code and Go Mouse Robots that I am requesting for my students will provide an effective way for primary students to learn and practice coding. These robots will be used with our students in kindergarten, first grade, and second grade and can be made available to our pre-schoolers as well.

Donations to this project will provide coding experiences with specialized robots that are developmentally appropriate and engaging for young learners.

Students will work in pairs to code robots, which will help develop their collaboration and social-emotional skills. The activities within the provided curriculum will inspire these early learners to explore beginning coding and sequencing using logical thinking and problem solving skills within many different subject areas. Our students will appreciate the opportunity to learn with these new materials that will definitely make learning fun for them. Let the coding begin!
