No More Tangles and Mess for Online Learning

Help me give my students mice for online learning, timer for staying on task and some other classroom supplies to give them chance to create.

My Students

My students are creative and are excited to learn new things. They just started their first year in the Chinese immersion program. They spent half of the time learning in English, and the other half in Chinese. I am impressed everyday when they walk into my classroom and tell me things in Chinese. Within a few weeks after school started in the beginning of the year, they can already write their Chinese name and Chinese numbers. They are smart and capable of doing hard things.

My Project

Our school provides wire mice for students to use in the classroom. I found that become very time consuming to get my young students "ready" to learn. Plug in and out the mice and headphones as well as untangle the wires take away the precious learning time especially in the immersion program since students only have half of the time to learn one subject compare to the traditional class students. These wireless mice will help save time when we do some online learning in class. My students practice speaking Chinese with partners. They also practice listening skills in class. They do these practices on their Chromebook so they can do it on their own pace and on their own level. This is an essential skills as they might need to go home and be quarantined due to the pandemic.

They need to learn how to navigate the online resources at school so it won't be an obstacle at home.

I would also like a timer that can keep my students to stay on task. A timer that will ring when time is up will help them to quickly move on to the next thing we do. It has become a problem for some of them when they have the headphones and couldn't pay attention to me when I need them to put away their Chromebook.

Lastly I would add some classroom supplies including cardstock papers, and markers for students to create in the classroom. Using regular papers and crayons are easy but they don't last for a long time and sometimes they end up in the garbage can. These things will help my students have as much time learning using online resources and in the classroom, and ultimately see the academic improvement.
