My Students

My students put a smile on my face with all of the silliness, love, smiles, and hugs I get every day!

There is no better reward than getting to be part of all of their lives.

I love every minute of teaching and learning with them! With nearly 70% of my students coming from homes that qualify for free or reduced-priced lunches, getting them to think about Language Arts can be challenging, but my kids are willing to trust me and start the learning process every day to help ensure that love and desire to learn. I want them to be able to take it with them as they grow and enter the world. I am teaching the future and I know it will be bright.

My Project

In today’s world, fast food is an everyday thing for most people, and my students are no different. Fast food is part of their daily lives and I want to help them make healthier choices all while learning the skills they need for English.

We will take the book, “Chew On This”, and dive into the world of deep-fried and processed foods.

This will help my students to learn how food can affect our body and health, all while learning about text structures and central ideas. My students are ready to watch the food break down (It is so gross!) and their reading scores go up!
