My students need books and kits that can help them understand bullying, anti-bullying activities that my students can do together, and a Kindle Fire to share and get apps to help.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Students are getting bullied every day. Most students will not report being bullied because they are scared and do not know how to ask for help.
My students are high school students with special needs.
They are all too familiar with bullying. My students are students with Autism, Emotional/Behavior Disorders, Leaning Disabilities, Mild/ Moderate MI, and many have multiple diagnoses. We are located in a rural area in the northern panhandle of West Virginia. Most children come from a low socioeconomic background.
My Project
With the help of ABC Family and Townsend Press, my students are hopeful to get their Anti-Bullying project funded. My students have requested books and activities to help start a campaign in our classroom and hopefully spread throughout the school to help educate each other about bullying and how to ask for help if you are being bullied. My students have also requested a Kindle Fire to download apps and also to practice sharing. They feel this will help promote friendship and hinder bullying in our classroom.
This project is important to my students because they truly want to stop bullying but do not know how.
My students are high school students, with high school problems and feeling, but are functioning on a grade school mentality. They all learn in different ways and need a multitude of activities to fully understand the impact of bullying, how to stop it from happening, and how to help others that are being bullied.
