Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

We serve a group of unique students that are often the high flyers, but also can be passed over. Gifted students are often overlooked because they are the "good kids" or teachers think "they'll be fine on their own" because they're academically strong.

However, our students deserve more because they are going to be future change-makers and world leaders.

They need nurturing opportunities to encourage and challenge them to think more deeply, creatively problem solve, and effectively collaborate with their peers.

My Project

In a world that commands 21st-century skills, we must make sure we are creating the opportunity and environment for students to make connections and learn how to use those skills effectively and appropriately. With our Samsung Smart TV, we will be able to Skype with experts in the fields in which we are studying to make career connections and jump-start passions. We will be able to take virtual field trips around the world and develop a sense of cultural appreciation. Additionally, we will be able to cast presentation formats to practice public speaking and presentation skills with our project and problem-based practices which guides our classroom learning.
