My Students

Our third grade class consists of a diverse population, where students speak a variety of languages at home. They all have grown up in an urban setting. Many live so close that they walk home. The school is the center of their community. Many students receive free or reduced-price breakfasts and lunches at school. Our goal for our classroom is to create a community that fosters kindness and that accepts all students. Through my projects, I hope to give students all they need to be successful.

My Project

Every day during our Math block, students need to use individual dry erase boards to solve complex word problems. They are great for quick assessments of skill as well as keeping students engaged in the lesson. Dry erase markers are always being used throughout the year with whiteboards and also laminated sheets for centers.

The laminator will provide my students with activities that can be drawn on with whiteboard markers and reused for other groups to work on as well.

The sheets that come with the laminator will allow me to laminate many sheets not only for Math but also for language and grammar practice that are a key part of building fluency.
