Help me give my students access to great videos and 5 E lessons for inquiry based science. Generation Genius offers standards based science in a fun and eye-catching package for my students.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our school serves sixth through eighth grade students from all over North Charleston, South Carolina. Currently, we have students who speak English, Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, Mandarin, and Tagalog as their first language. We are a Title I school where 100% of our students receive free or reduced-price breakfast and lunch.
My students are eighth graders who are energetic and eager learners who have big dreams.
My goal this year is to help them along their path so they can stay focused on their dreams.
My Project
This year has shown me just how resilient my students can be. We started the year off learning remotely (on-line) and we will continue using this learning model at least until February. I have incorporated demonstrations and as many at-home science activities that I can. I discovered a newer program called Generation Genius and my students really responded to the lessons.
Generation Genius will allow me to offer engaging videos and activities for my remote learners.
The program uses Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and presents them in a way to entertain and educate middle school students! This project will allow each student access to the videos, games, activities and quizzes for 8th grade Science.
