Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach in an inner city, title one school with a high minority population. My students do not get to experience normal science labs and activities. As their teacher I try to incoperate fun labs and activities into my every day teaching.

My students have no confidence in themselves so I am trying to change that by giving them the same type of assignments that the honor students would receive.

When they accomplish the work and understand it their confidence increases which makes them believe that they can go to college and succeeed.

My Project

The new NGSS curriculum has the students doing more hands on activity and making the students responsible for their learning. For my students to be able to do this effectively they need poster paper, glue sticks and markers so they can brain storm in a group and put it on to paper that can be present and displayed around the room.

Having a white board on a stand will help the student be able to present their ideas to the rest of the class.

This will also be a spot to summarize what everyone in the class learned after they have completed a task.
