Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The majority of my students are learning English as a New Language, with their first language being Spanish. They learn in a bilingual school and work hard in English and Spanish every day. They are smart, resilient, and hard-working. They deserve the best!
My students bring their different cultures into the classroom and make our community vibrant and diverse.
Their bilingualism is such an achievement and I hope to help them improve in English literacy and to fall in love with reading AND math this year!
My Project
Engaging students while they are learning at home can be a challenge! Providing fun, engaging, and relevant reading material for students will help get my students excited about reading non fiction text this school year! Each student will get a digital monthly news magazine that we will use during lessons and for free time reading. I will also use the document camera stand to assist during remote learning. This will allow me to use my phone to capture what I'm writing onto paper and project it to students on the computer screen.
