My Students
I am a teacher in a low-income and high poverty school district. Many of my students face difficulties at home and in the classroom in a variety of ways. I want to provide a structured and comforting environment for my students to thrive in as lifelong learners and friends.
My students are encouraged to strive in creativity, collaboration, and self-achievement.
Being a third-year teacher, I want to provide the best classroom environment I can for my students. I take pride in and am dedicated to my students. I hope my classroom can reflect that I am one hundred percent committed to them and their educational career.
My Project
Being a second year teacher it has been hard filling my classroom library with a variety of nonfiction text. I have been slowly building my collection with Scholastic book orders. I now want to expand my collection with Scholastic News.
Nonfiction text can expand a students vocabulary.
With the help of Scholastic news, my class can explore how the author organizes the text and learn about science, animals, and other fun categories. They can find a new love for nonfiction text. I hope that by showing the excitement that Scholastic provides in Scholastic News, my students will be more than willing to check out and read nonfiction books.
