Help me give my students the ability to access grade level texts. My students are all SLIFE and many struggle with literacy in home language. Help these kids to succeed in the US and they become future citizens!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach English as a Second Language, and the majority of our students come from poverty and war-torn countries. Many struggle with literacy in home language and come with a world of trauma on their backs. As well, most are SLIFE (students with limited or interrupted formal education) and need extra support. They need these texts to help them access grade level reading materials and stay on track to graduation. They already have such an uphill battle-- help them get a leg up with these classroom sets for 9th and 10th grade ELA!
