My Students

My students are excited about learning! They love new opportunities and the chance to experience new things. They are very respectful students who come to school every day excited about what they will learn. They learn best when incorporating manipulatives for hands-on learning experiences.

My school is in a low-income area, where over 70% of students receive free or reduced-price lunch.

Many students do not have access to computers at home. I love presenting them with opportunities to use technology and learn new things because they truly enjoy every minute of it. Their smiles and motivation to be the best they can be is my inspiration and my reason for teaching.

My Project

I gave my students a book challenge at the start of this year. They have enjoyed reading new titles from a variety of genres.

One of the categories is Newbery Medal award winning books.

Our selection for this category is minimal. I want to boost my classroom library with several new titles that are all Newbery Medal winners or Newbery Medal honor books.

The titles in this project will provide students with a wide selection of books to choose from. Every student will have the ability to find a book that interests them and it will allow them to check off this category of their challenge.
