Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am super excited to begin my first year of teaching! My students are dual and gifted fourth grade scholars. My students are the first group of students that will initiate our Ignite program at our school. I know they are thrilled and nervous as we start this new school year, but we are ready to take on the challenge!
Students will be expanding their minds as they will be challenged every day.
I have seen and experienced a positive learning environment when students have the opportunity to choose their seating that allows them to learn and perform their best in class. Please help me create this learning environment for my students as we start this new school year.
My Project
Having the choice of seats will be beneficial to my students' learning by allowing them to be comfortable. Students spend most of their day sitting in chairs and desks that are not comfortable. It doesn't let them focus and be engaged in the lessons or their own work. Giving students the opportunity to discover which way they learn best helps improve their learning by being able to focus on growing as learners rather than on being uncomfortable.
Providing students the opportunity to simply choose how they learn best gives them a voice in their own learning.
Flexible seating allows students to identify and choose their best way of learning whether that be by sitting on a stool, a wobbly chair that supports their needs, or a comfortable chair.
By meeting my students' basic needs, they will grow as learners.
