New Year, New Grade Level!= New Reading Levels

My students need leveled books and soft seating for a reading area. This would really help get them motivated to learn and read.

My Students

My students come from many different cultures and walks of life. Many of my students have parents, who are currently serving the military and some have both parents in the military. My students' parents would love to do anything to help out their child, but for some, financially that is difficult.

I teach at a Title I school where all students receive free breakfast and many receive free lunch.

The students are excited about learning and the staff go above and beyond to create a great atmosphere for learning.

My Project

I am teaching a new grade level this year and I do not have any books that are second grade level. The students will read the books during their independent time and I will have activities for them to complete with the books. The students can doodle a story map and can even take an Accelerated Reader test. Students need books on their level that encourage them to learn more.

The students will also read with a buddy and help motivate each other.

I will also have DEAR Drop Everything and Read and the Flex-Space Beanbag seating and Flex-Space Classroom Storage Bench will allow for the students to read comfortably.
