My Project

With over 90 students in my class, organization is hard to maintain, especially when there is very little storage. Our New Year project is to self-reflect on 2023 and set goals for 2024. The student will take that information and turn it in to their 2024 Vision Board. The canvases, markers, and hot glue will be supplied to students to complete this project. Students have open access to all materials needed but without proper functional storage, the classroom tends to end up in shambles.

Having more functional storage will allow students to take ownership in the organization of the classroom because it will allow for everything to have its place.

Students will no longer have to ask where something is because it will be visible and available to them. The 5-tier bookcase will be the hub for all student supplies, materials, and work baskets. The baker's rack with a power outlet will be utilized to house our electric pencil sharpeners and a variety of papers for student use.

When moving classrooms this past school year, I ended up with a very small desk for my personal use. Being able to have ample space to organize the computer, printer, and files will ensure that I can also stay organized which will demonstrate to the students my expectations of them. This space will also provide a comfortable area to meet and conference with students one-on-one.
