My Students

My students are a group of individuals who represent a typical rural community in Northeast Georgia. Many of my students do not have the means to purchase their own supplies as our school is a Title I school. Our middle school is an integral piece of the community because our students depend on ways that the school can help them.

My students do not let their circumstances dictate their life choices; instead, they come to school ready to learn so that they can make a difference in the world.

My students believe in the power of sports opportunities and the way that reading and writing opportunities can effect change in individuals, families, and communities because they have seen this change happen in their own lives. I am encouraged every day by their hard work and endurance.

My Project

These books will help make a difference in my students' learning because they'll be able to access new and exciting books that pique their interest. We use choice novels for many activities in our English Language Arts class, so increasing our classroom library will assist my students in their class activities across the year.

Building our classroom library will build the minds of my students by whetting their appetites for new and relevant books.

The students will be so excited to get their hands on these new books and their reading in class.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
